Project EverGreen launched a new website last month. The new resource will support the organization’s mission to create a cooler, greener, healthier earth. It can be viewed at projectevergreen.org. The organization’s work is supported by two initiatives: GreenCare for Communities which revitalizes community green spaces and GreenCare for Troops, which provides basic lawn and landscape services to military families during deployment. The new website provides a fresh, new look to the organization and makes it easier for families and communities to register for services.
GreenCare for Troops services are free and rely heavily on volunteers to bring military families the gift of a healthy maintained yard. In turn, GreenCare for Troops provides lawn and landscape professionals who volunteer with a way to honor the military, give back to their own community and be recognized for their participation in the program. Combined, GreenCare for Troops and its sister program SnowCare for Troops have had more than 11,000 families register for services. More than 6,000 lawn, landscape and snow removal professionals have volunteered their time and service.
Nufarm is proud to be a leading sponsor of Project EverGreen’s GreenCare for Troops. Its ongoing support helped GreenCare for Troops achieve an active volunteer increase of 42 percent last year.
“All of us at Nufarm are happy and honored to support a program like GreenCare for Troops. We know their new website will make it even easier for volunteers and military families to connect, which means more peace-of-mind for military families across the country,” said Sean Casey, Nufarm Turf & Ornamental VP of Sales and Project EverGreen Board of Directors member.
