Morrisville, NC – October 19, 2022 – The Golf Course Superintendent Association of America (GCSAA) EXCEL Nufarm Leadership Program convened assistant golf course superintendents in Frisco, TX on October 4-6 for professional development, exercises and learning at the new Professional Golf Association (PGA) Headquarters.

The fall program included sessions on diversity, equity and inclusion presented by PGA’s Chief People Officer Sandy Cross, professional networking, career path discussions, and transitioning from assistant to superintendent roles.

The fall 2023 class received a private tour of the new PGA Headquarters in Frisco and engaged with the PGA’s Senior Director of Golf Maintenance Operations Roger Meier and PGA of America Chief Membership Officer John Easterbrook.

Participants also heard from PGA Managing Superintendent of GC & Grounds Bryce Yates, East Course Golf Course Superintendent Nic Zickefoose, District Golf Course Superintendent Will Bowling and West Golf Course Superintendent Kyle Bunney in a frank and dynamic panel discussion on operations and learnings when building the new headquarters golf course.

Participants enjoyed connecting to share best practices and experiences over dinner events in Frisco.

The EXCEL Nufarm Program class will convene at GCSAA’s Conference and Tradeshow in Orlando, FL on February 6-9, 2023.
