I grew up on a small acreage in Wagga Wagga, NSW. My grandparents also had a small farm 20kms out, in Mangoplah. I remember weekends helping my grandma pick fruit in their orchard and helping feed the cows. I moved away from agriculture and moved to Adelaide where I completed my schooling and found myself being drawn back to agriculture where I worked at a plant breeding company over one summer which reignited my passion for agriculture again. I’ve completed just under 6 years as an agronomist in the South East, SA and Wimmera/Mallee, VIC dealing with broadacre cropping, pasture feed, small seed production and a handful of horticulture crops under irrigation. This has taken me into my current role in Nufarm Australia. I love working in agriculture because no two days are the same and it is ever changing industry especially in the last couple years with land prices increasing and input costs reducing profit margins. When I’m not at work I’m with my family, outside in my garden or veggie patch or playing netball in winter and women’s footy in summer for the local sporting club.
