Calgary, AB – Chateau® Herbicide, by Valent Canada, Inc. is now registered for use on broccoli and caneberry.
Broccoli and caneberry growers in Canada now have another effective tool to assist in the control of Group 2-acetolactate synthase (ALS) resistant weeds such as red root pigweed, green pigweed, eastern black nightshade and common ragweed.
Chateau, containing flumioxazin (51.1%), is a powerful, residual pre-emergent herbicide. A PPO inhibitor, Chateau’s mode of action is different than many other commonly used herbicides. So it helps fight resistance, while providing long-lasting control of tough weeds including Group 2-resistant weeds.
