ThunderHawk Herbicide: A Pre-Seed Burndown Solution for Cereals in the with Residual Activity

ThunderHawk® herbicide energizes pre-seed burndown with glyphosate ahead of cereals in the black soil zone. With three modes of action it delivers fast-acting control on a wide spectrum of broadleaf weeds and provides longer residual activity on volunteer canola.

Technical information

Active ingredients:  Group 14 (pyraflufen-ethyl), Group 4 (MCPA ester), Group 2 (florasulam)
Rainfast:  2 hours
Treatment rate:  80 acres/case (ThunderHawk A – 133mL/acre,  ThunderHawk B – 40 mL/acre)
Tank-mix order:  ThunderHawk B, ThunderHawk A, glyphosate
Notes:  Can be applied up to 2 days after seeding. No surfactant required when tank-mixed with glyphosate. Use 10 gal./acre water volume to get good coverage on emerged weeds.

Registered crops

  • Barley
  • Oats
  • Wheat (spring, winter)

Benefits

  • FASTER ACTIVITY on a wide range of broadleaf weeds compared to other Group 2- or Group 2- and 4- pre-seed burndown herbicides
  • MANAGES VOLUNTEER CANOLA (all herbicide-tolerant biotypes) with soil residual activity up to three weeks after application
  • AN EXCELLENT RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT TOOL with three active ingredients that work well in combination on tough-to-kill weeds
  • Unsurpassed crop safety for registered crops
  • Controls Group 2-resistant weeds (kochia, cleavers, lamb’s-quarters, redroot pigweed), Group 4-resistant weeds (kochia) and glyphosate-resistant broadleaf weeds (kochia, volunteer canola)
