Nufarm’s Bioenergy platform develops the crops, supply chains and partnerships needed to scale sustainable bioenergy. Our feedstocks provide customers with traceability, verified sustainability credentials and strong greenhouse gas performance, helping them meet renewable fuel and decarbonisation goals.
Carinata
Carinata is Nufarm’s most advanced bioenergy feedstock. An RSB-certified, non-food intermediate crop, it is grown under contract on existing farmland between primary crop seasons.
Today, Carinata oil is used in renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel production, supported by field-level traceability, certified supply chains and strong lifecycle greenhouse gas savings.

Our contract production model is designed to deliver efficient, traceable feedstocks aligned with customer requirements. Commercial agreements, including our long-term offtake arrangement with bp, demonstrate growing demand for sustainable bioenergy feedstocks and help connect growers with renewable fuel markets. As customer demand develops, we are focused on expanding production and supply chain capability in step with market opportunities.
We also work with governments, regulators and industry in key agricultural and end-use markets to support science-based policies that recognise the role of sustainable agricultural feedstocks in meeting low-carbon fuel targets.
Omega-3
Supporting human and animal nutrition with plant-based omega-3 innovation
Demand for omega-3 continues to grow across human nutrition and aquaculture, while traditional marine sources face increasing supply constraints. Nufarm’s Human and Animal Nutrition platform converts canola grain into plant-based omega-3 oils, creating a renewable and traceable alternative that supports long-term market demand while reducing reliance on wild-caught marine resources.
We are focused on commercialising these technologies through a staged approach, building production, customer adoption, supply chain capability and end-market demand together to support sustainable long-term growth.
